This month we collaborate with Mr. Vance Blackfox (MA, Lutheran School of Theology) in exploring the theme, Homelands. Vance is currently communications director at Native Americans In Philanthropy. His contributions help us feel and understand the Native American perspective. The PBS videos he shares below deftly tell the story of the White invaders’ betrayal and annihilation of America’s first peoples. The White invaders also caused incalcuable destruction of the Creator’s works. Watch. Each. Video.

4. Geronimo

When Geronimo was a boy, “the Apache numbered just 8,000 people, split into many tribes. . . A lot of people think the Apaches are just one tribe, but they are a group of nations, with their own histories, cultures, and territories.”  

5. Wounded Knee

“With the White House increasingly occupied with Watergate . . the electricity was cut off, the water line was cut, the reporters sent home…”
