Poem from Cold Mountain (Han-Shan)

Poem from Cold Mountain (Han-Shan)

Han-Shan (c. 800 A.D.) "was a legendary figure," one of the earliest Taoist poets, associated with the Chinese Tang Dynasty. "No one knows who he was." Check out more poems from Han-Shan here. Video commentary: "Han-shan was popularized in the West by the Beats. Gary Snyder did an early translation of Han-shan's poetry and Jack Kerouac dedicated The Dharma Bums to Han-shan." The poem above taken from Gary Snider's translation of Han Shan's Cold Mountain Poems
